Kendra, LaRae, Alisa and Meghan, are charting a new path with a debut solo project while continuing to tour and record as an integral part of the Walker Family. These four young girls are producing a sound that perfectly harmonizes the broad appeal of the contemporary country genre while embracing their bluegrass roots. The years they spent on the road performing nearly 1,000 shows with their family have shaped these girls into four entertainers destined for the top of the charts and the national spotlight. These girls are pure energy off stage as well. While keeping up the hectic touring pace, the girls along with their parents are making time to shop around the Nashville songwriting community in search of the best songs for their upcoming CD. Kendra is also writing and/or co-writing original songs for the project.
Kendra, age 20, has a rich, warm voice influenced by jazz and blues. Her unique sound breathes new life into old songs. Kendra has been compared to the likes of Alison Krauss and Eva Cassidy – sweet but sassy! She plays lead guitar and writes the band’s original music.
LaRae, age 19, is accomplished at the banjo, playing both the old claw-hammer and the Scruggs’ three-finger style. LaRae can make a banjo sound lyrical or brassy! While she adds her lovely high-tenor voice to the band, LaRae may be best known for her beautiful smile. How many people can pick a banjo and smile at the same time?
Alisa, age 17, is bursting with talent and energy and lights the stage on fire with her presence! Alisa is a smokin’ hot fiddle and mandolin player who loves music and loves to share it. Her voice has been compared to Loretta Lynn, singing low baritone with maturity beyond her years. She also taught herself to yodel by listening to old country songs.
Meghan, age 14, is an incredible young bass player and the solid, steady heartbeat of the band. Meghan sings with a sweet, high-tenor voice and while quiet off-stage, she isn’t shy about sharing her music!
